What going on with gale porter?

I'm very sorry to see that she's got problems. But why does she insist on carrying on with her telly career when it is obviously dead in the water. When she was in her prime she was the fern cotton of her day but i am struggling to work out what her x factor is that is getting her work in the media. For me the ets of a TV personality is are an easiness on the eye and a interesting personality, two factors i lack hence the fact you will only see me on telly if it's crimewatch. If ricky gervais , or the fern's cotton or Britton were struck down with such an ailment i'm sure they could carry it off as they have strong personality. In fact i have always wondered how she got on telly in the first place.
