If there were a war today, would people suffer the same conditions in the trenches in WWI?

No, take WW2 for instance during the war conditions were not great but nowhere near as bad as the trenches. And now with the improvement of the military the conditions would be good in a war, look at how the soldiers live out in Afghanistan, the conditions are not exactly bad. This would mean if another war was to break out the conditions would not be close to what the trenches were like during WW1.
