I cant stop thinking about him and i just dont know, plz help?

ok ive known him practically since i was born, i hadnt spoken to him in ages, so i talked to him and it was great to catch up, then i started to like him, and that was weird, i dont know why cos i havnt spoken to him much, so i started talking to him a bit more and then we ran outta stuff to talk about, so as stupid as it sounds i promised myself to not talk to him for a week, im kinda hoping then we will have something to talk about, i keep thinking about him, so many guys ive been with have hurt me so i built up an immunity, for me taking that down for him, thats big, like really big, im really confused, i dont wanna chase something that isnt there and i dont wanna get hurt again, so plz help
