HELP!! I'm so scared to hangout alone with a guy!!?

okay so theres this guy ill call him bob. so theres this thing going on between me and bob like he knows that i like him and i think he likes me too. we talk on aim almost every night and hes like totally sweet. there was a dance last night and he said tgat he had to talk to me later nd rumor was that he was gunna ask me out. but we never got the chance to talk so last night on aim he asked me to hangout. i called gis cell abd made up an excuse cuz im soo scared to habgout with him alone. my friebd thibks im a baby for doing this and that hes not gunna ask ne out or like me anymore. i would have totally hubg out with him with other ppl were there. what do you thibk???
